I prefer to use XEmacs and its various modes for most (all?) of my project planning stuff, for managing my contacts and my appointments. A key feature to this approach is the calendar mode (side by side with planner-mode). But for serious use the calendar mode is missing an important feature: ISO 8601 week numbers.

Some moons ago I hacked in the missing feature. I hope to see this hack in the official calendar mode package some day. But the code of calendar mode is complex and it seems to be somewhat fragile. So it may take some time before this hack find its way into the official package, if ever. If you like the idea of having business week numbers displayed in your calendar you can download source code based on the XEmacs package version 1.32 and patches in the download section of this page.
